About
My artwork is my vision of the plants and landscapes where I live and work.
I strive to convey the beauty and intricacy of the plants around me through paintings, drawings, screen printing, and mandala designs.
I began drawing plants as a learning tool and found that accurate botanical illustration was challenging and exciting.
Over time I have learned that each plant is unique but that they have similarities in their elements I can use to create botanical drawings and abstract works.
I live with my family live in the Cascade Mountains of Western Washington where I am lucky to work as a plant ecologist.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Master’s degree in Horticulture. After graduation I began working in native plant nurseries and mapping native plant communities throughout the Western United States. My work in these ecosystems fostered my passion for native plants and art.
